ArrivalAid Düsseldorf is an initiative in Düsseldorf, training volunteers to prepare refugees for and accompany them to the official hearing at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge). In case of a negative decision on the asylum request, we additionally offer preparation for the hearing at the administrative court (Verwaltungsgericht).

Refugees seeking asylum in Germany often lack sufficient information regarding the procedure for granting the right of asylum. Moreover, they are frequently unaware of key issues that need to be addressed during the hearing, in order for their individual situation to be acknowledged.

With ArrivalAid Düsseldorf, we want to accompany refugees throughout their asylum procedure. Our trained volunteers provide assistance to refugees through the whole asylum procedure, ideally comprising two preparatory meetings, the escort to the hearing, and a follow-up meeting. We are confident to provide efficient and meaningful support to refugees.

If necessary, a translator will be called in. All services of ArrivalAid are free of charge.

We do not provide legal advice, as our focus lies on support and assistance during the asylum procedure. When required, we can arrange legal counselling with experienced lawyers.

(We are sorry that the application form is only available in German. We are working on the English version.)
